Choose a quiet, distraction-free area to begin training.

  1. 🐶 Get your dog’s attention with a calm voice and a treat in hand.

  2. Hold the treat close to your dog’s nose, letting them smell it but not take it.

  3. ↗️ Slowly move the treat upward and slightly back, guiding your dog’s head to look up — this naturally shifts their weight back into a sitting position.

  4. ⬇️ As their bottom touches the ground, say the command “Sit” clearly and calmly.

  5. 🎉 Immediately reward with the treat and gentle praise (“Good sit!”) once they sit.

  6. 🔁 Repeat 5–10 times per session, keeping sessions short (5–10 minutes).

  7. 📆 Practice daily, gradually reducing the treat and using praise or affection instead.

  8. 🌳 Add distractions slowly, practicing in different environments to generalize the behavior.

  9. 🧘 Stay calm and patient — energy matters more than words.
